The Florida Gators' football season opener against the Miami Hurricanes at Orlando's Camping World Stadium has officially been moved one week earlier to coincide with the College Football 150th Anniversary Organization's special kickoff plans.
The game is now scheduled to be held on Aug. 24, one week earlier than the original Aug. 31 kickoff date.
The move was first pitched by the College Football 150th Anniversary Organization and ESPN. Camping World Kickoff, the Gators and the Hurricanes all signed off. Then they applied for a waiver from the NCAA to move the date of the game.
