You know the time-tested adage that says only bad things occur in the offseason? Gators veteran SS Marcell Harris has emerged as the latest case in point.
A redshirt senior who has appeared in 37 career games and started eight last year, Harris has been lost for the year with a torn right Achilles tendon suffered during workouts Wednesday.
"As a coach this is one of the hardest things you are faced with," Coach Jim McElwain said in a statement released by UF. "Here is a kid who has made great personal growth during his time here and has really matured both on and off the field.
