GAINESVILLE — The Florida Gators began building their 2022 class in men’s basketball Wednesday with the commitment of Montverde Academy power forward Malik Reneau.
The 6-foot-8, 210-pound South Florida native chose the Gators over in-state rivals Florida State and Miami, along with Memphis, according to a report from On3.com.
Reneau will look to provide the Gators with a post presence coach Mike White’s squad have struggled to consistently establish during his six seasons in Gainesville. DeLand native and Michigan transfer Colin Castleton, who averaged 12.4 points and 6.4 rebounds last season, returned for his final year of eligibility after he explored his professional option following one season in Gainesville.
