It took clutch guard play and strong defense down the stretch for the Gators to put away the Aggies in the second half Tuesday night.
Florida (11-7, 3-3 SEC) held off Texas A&M (7-10, 1-5 SEC) to win 81-72 on the shoulders of KeVaughn Allen and Noah Locke.
The Gators went 17 games this season without one player eclipsing the 20-point mark. Tuesday night, Allen erupted for a season-high 31 points and Locke went for a career-high 27 points to break the streak. The two combined for 15 3-pointers, the most 3s made by two Florida teammates in program history, and the team’s 18 made 3-pointers was the second most in school history.
