LAKE BUENA VISTA — Florida’s chances for a signature win against No. 11 Gonzaga on Friday night were dashed due to questionable shot selection and defensive lapses in the second half.
But the Gators still have a chance to close the AdvoCare Invitational on a positive note if they can beat Miami Sunday afternoon in the third-place game at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.
Florida coach Mike White said it will be important for the Gators (5-1) to get rest during Saturday’s off day while preparing mentally for a Hurricanes program that has reached two Sweet 16s in the past four seasons under sixth-year coach Jim Larranaga.
