ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Florida’s first game under new coach Mike White had its shaky early moments.
But the Gators kept defending all night long, making Navy work for every point. Florida eventually got its dribble-drive and fast-break offense in sync and pulled away for a 59-41 win over the Midshipmen in the Veterans Classic.
White picked up his first win in his first game as Gator coach and extended UF’s streak of season-opening wins to 25. Sophomore forward Devin Robinson led Florida with his first career double-double, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
