For the first time in school history, the University of Florida football players will look like real alligators in a swamp when they take on Texas A&M on Saturday night at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The Gators will wear an alternative “swamp green” uniform designed to look like the scaly skin of an alligator. It is the first time UF strays from the traditional orange and blue uniform.
Nike has been developing the alligator-themed uniform for two years, and unveiled it Monday night. The jersey has an alligator skin pattern. Player numbers are orange with royal blue trim.
