GAINESVILLE — The month of March is when NCAA Tournament teams find their stride.
But with their postseason hopes hanging by a thread, the Florida Gators continued their season-ending slide, falling 88-79 Tuesday night to No. 22 Kentucky.
On Senior Night and with Hall of Fame announcer Dick Vitale courtside and a national TV audience tuned in, the Wildcats' visit from set up to be an emotionally charged performance by the desperate Gators.
UF players were game and stayed within striking distance much of the night.
"I can’t fault our effort," coach Mike White said.
