LEXINGTON, Ky. — Florida couldn't overcome a poor start and the hot-shooting of freshman guard Jamal Murray on Saturday afternoon against Kentucky.
Murray scored a career-high 35 points and sank eight 3-pointers as Kentucky (17-6, 7-3 SEC) snapped a two-game losing streak with an 80-61 win over the Gators at Rupp Arena.
Kentucky raced to a quick 24-5 lead and led by as many as 24 points in the first half. The Wildcats led 50-32 at halftime, with Murray scoring 20 points.
Dorian Finney-Smith led the Gators (15-8, 6-4 SEC) with 24 points. Center John Egbunu added 12 points and five rebounds.
