GAINESVILLE — Reeling and on the ropes against Alabama, Florida’s ‘D’ bounced back behind three C’s: Todd Grantham’s coaching, Dan Mullen’s culture and a sold-out crowd at the Swamp.
A struggling defense did an about face, gave the Gators a chance and provided hope going forward during narrow loss to the nation’s top-ranked team.
“I knew we were a tight group, but that game showed me that we had a lot more in us than I thought,” sophomore safety Rashad Torrence said. “It’s kind of great because I knew we had the potential. That just showed that we could perform at a high level and can do consistently.
