GAINESVILLE — The Florida Gators checked in at No. 8 in the preseason Associated Press top 25, the same ranking as last season when the team finished 11-2 and ranked No. 6.
The Gators ranking, released Monday, signals the program’s continued growth under Mullen. In reality, UF soon could rise higher since several top 25 programs have been sidelined by the coronavirus pandemic. The AP poll included all conferences, including those not playing in the fall.
UF landed in the No. 8 spot in the coaches’ poll earlier this month, but since then the Big Ten and Pac-12 canceled their seasons.
