Gators counting on strong pitching to help them top rival FSU

GAINESVILLE — Logan Shore has been through six Florida-Florida State games during his first two years with the Florida baseball team.

He's seen all six from the dugout.

But come Friday, Shore will be officially inaugurated into the series rivalry.

The sophomore righty will start for No. 4 seed UF against FSU in Game 1 of the best-of-three Gainesville Super Regional at McKethan Stadium. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

"It's a big game and it's a big weekend series," Shore (8-6, 2.64 ERA) said. "Obviously everyone has seen us battle back and forth the past few seasons, and really for as long as anyone can remember.
