The Florida Gators had a second player enter the transfer portal since the end of spring camp. Cornerback Jahari Rogers is the most recent to depart the Florida program.
The former four-star recruit out of Texas redshirted in 2020, but saw limited action against Missouri, Alabama and Oklahoma late in the season.
Rogers’ decision to enter the portal comes as a surprise, considering he was expected to compete for some significant playing time in 2021. He leaves a cornerback unit that was already relatively inexperienced behind veterans Kaiir Elam and Jaydon Hill.
While Rogers could have been a contributor this season, the Gators still have good numbers at the position, but will be in search of young players to step up in his absence.
