On the heels of a 28-27 win against Tennessee, the Florida Gators returned to the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time in nearly two years.
The Gators checked in Sunday in at No. 25. UF (4-0, 2-0 SEC) last was ranked in October of 2013 when the No. 22 Gators lost 36-17 at Missouri.
Until Sunday, the Gators had been unranked by the AP for 25 weeks during the regular season, the longest stretch since a 32-week drought that stretched from Nov. 5, 1977 to Oct. 4, 1980.
UF also was ranked No. 23 in the coaches poll.
