GAINESVILLE — The Florida Gators’ rebuild in men’s basketball continued with perhaps the best get to date for coach Mike White.
Charleston Southern guard Phlandrous Fleming Jr. announced on his Twitter account he will transfer to UF for his final season. The versatile 6-foot-4, 210-pound guard is the fourth Gators transfer since the end of the season. He averaged 20.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists last season, while also earning Defensive Player of the Year in the the Big South Conference.
Fleming, a native of Athens, Ga., closed last season with straight double-doubles, capped by a 35-point, 11-rebound outing against Presbyterian.
