Muffled, muted Strangeville — a place where the Florida Gators, for the first time since the Tim Tebow/Percy Harvin national championship years, have one of the most exciting offenses in the country and, yet, nobody is in the stadium to enjoy it.
Give those fans in the pandemic-shrunken crowd of 15,120 credit for bringing the juice and making some noise during No. 3 Florida’s 38-24 victory over South Carolina in the home opener Saturday at the Swamp, but it just seemed weird and surreal to have one of the loudest stadiums in college football transformed into a USF home game.
