Former UF QB Harris is transferring

The Gainesville Sun

Former Florida quarterback Treon Harris' career with the Gators is over.

The university confirmed Monday the junior has been granted his release and will transfer from the program.

The former Miami Booker T. Washington star's exit ends a tumultuous UF career that at times showed flashes of promise.

As a freshman, Harris played in relief of former UF quarterback Jeff Driskel, notably helping lead the team to a 10-9 win over Tennessee.

He entered the 2015 season competing with redshirt freshman quarterback Will Grier for the starting role, a battle that stretched into the opening weeks of his sophomore season.
