Former UF basketball captain Bostic dies in car accident

Former Gator basketball guard and captain Don Bostic died in a car accident in Early, Texas, on Friday.

Bostic, an administrator at Ranger College, was driving on his way to graduation activities when his car swerved into the opposite lane of traffic and hit another car in a head-on collision, according to close friend and former teammate, Richard Clarson.

Bostic played at UF from 1973-77 and was one of three captains on UF’s 1976-77 team that went 17-9 and 10-8 in the SEC under former coach John Lotz.

“He was a really steady player, fundamentally sound,” Clarson said.
