Hurricanes men’s basketball coach Jim Larrañaga has had success in recent years turning transfer players into valuable contributors at Miami.
He’s hoping that trend will continue with another transfer — former Florida Gators forward Keith Stone — set to join the Hurricanes next season.
Stone, a former Zion Lutheran standout and Deerfield Beach native, announced Monday he was transferring to Miami with a Twitter post that featured a photo of him — dressed in a Hurricanes uniform — with his family. He added the caption, “I’m coming home momma.”
The 6-foot-8 Stone, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in January, appeared in 85 games for the Gators and started 39 of them.
