The Gators outdueled LSU to take the afternoon semifinal at the NCAA Championship.
After a subpar outing at their NCAA Regional a fortnight ago, the Florida Gators could have been in danger of missing out on the Super Six with a repeat performance in semifinal action at the NCAA Championship in Fort Worth on Friday.
Yeah, not so much.
The No. 2 Gators executed brilliantly on all four apparatuses, notching scores of 49.300 or better, to post a 197.4750 and win the afternoon semifinal over No. 3 LSU, which scored a 197.3375.
Florida had to deal with the awkwardness of a rotation that began with a bye and proceeded from the draining floor exercise through to a finish on the terrifying balance beam, but did so with little issue, turning in no scores lower than a 9.
