Florida’s long-dormant passing attack comes alive in rout of Kentucky

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – One of the biggest storylines from Florida’s 30th consecutive victory over Kentucky on Saturday was the Gators’ passing attack.

Quarterback Luke Del Rio was 19-of-32 for 320 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. It was the best single-game passing performance by a Florida quarterback since John Brantley threw for 329 yards against Furman in 2011 and the best against an SEC opponent since Chris Leak threw for 322 against Arkansas in 2004. In addition, Del Rio became the first Florida quarterback to throw for 300 yards and four touchdowns in a league game since Rex Grossman against LSU in 2000.
