Seven Florida players, including the team’s top running back and receiver, face serious legal issues off the field, Alachua County court records show.
Running back Jordan Scarlett, wide receiver Antonio Callaway and five other players have been charged with felonies. The other five are redshirt freshman wide receiver Rick Wells, redshirt freshman defensive end Jordan Smith, true freshman linebackers James Houston and Ventrell Miller and junior defensive end Keivonnis Davis.
Nine Gators were suspended before the season in connection with an investigation into misuse of college funds. The only two suspended players who were not charged with felonies are true freshman offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort and sophomore defensive tackle Richerd Desir-Jones.
