I’m not going to pretend I know or care all that much about what the Towson Tigers are, except for them being inferior at football to the Florida Gators.
And, look: They probably are, unless Florida is a lot worse than we thought. Towson has acquitted itself well against FCS competition — its only loss this year is to Villanova, and came by a 52-45 score in overtime — but its closest call against an FBS team since 2015 was an eight-point loss to East Carolina in its 2015 season opener.
And Florida had literally just beaten that same East Carolina team in its previous game, the bowl game that happened in the bizarre interstitial time between Will Muschamp and Jim McElwain being head coach.
