Florida Gators softball player Nicole DeWitt raised her hands almost as soon as the ball left her bat. As the ball flew deep over the right field fence, it took any chance Oklahoma State had at advancing to the NCAA Super Regional round with it.
DeWitt’s two-run homer in the first inning gave UF the juice it needed to overcome a slow start Sunday.
“I just got ahold of a pitch,” said DeWitt, who recorded her sixth home run of the season and bumped up her batting average to .331. “It just happened to go over the fence.
