Florida added its seventh commitment for its 2017 recruiting class on Thursday in junior college defensive tackle Javier Edwards. He posted his announcement on Twitter.
Edwards, who just recently began moving up recruiting boards, played at Blinn College (Texas) last season, where he had 27 tackles (one for loss) as a freshman.
Edwards (6 foot 3, 350 pounds) currently is an unranked prospect and does not have any other SEC offers; he also has offers from UNLV, Texas State, Tulsa, New Mexico State and Arkansas State. He played his high school ball at Houston Davis.
Edwards is the second defensive tackle the Gators have added to the 2017 class, joining Jordon Scott, a 345-pounder from Pinellas Park (Fla.
