Florida hires former Tennessee OC Larry Scott as tight ends coach

That didn’t take long: Almost immediately after the Gators lost their tight ends coach, Dan Mullen acted fast to bring a familiar SEC name on board. Florida hired Larry Scott as its tight ends coach Thursday, adding a 10th and final assistant coach to Mullen’s staff.

Scott replaces Ja’Juan Seider, the final remaining holdover from Jim McElwain’s 2017 staff. Seider is leaving to join James Franklin’s staff at Penn State.

Scott worked last year as offensive coordinator and tight ends coach under Butch Jones with Tennessee. He has also coached at South Florida and Miami, serving as interim coach of the Hurricanes at the end of 2015 in place of Al Golden.
