Florida hasn’t been able to escape QB woes in post-Tebow era

Florida finishes the season Monday in the Outback Bowl, which also should finish the short-lived “Austin Appleby era” in Gainesville.

Since the departure of Tim Tebow following the 2009 season, Florida has had a revolving door at quarterback, with a mix of much-ballyhooed prospects and unheralded recruits taking snaps.

Coach Jim McElwain has made it clear that the quarterback job will be wide open in the spring, with holdover Luke Del Rio and redshirt freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask expected to be in the top contenders. We obviously can’t predict what they’ll do in the future, but we can look at the Gators’ attempts to find an answer under center in the post-Tim Tebow era.
