Special report on the Florida Gators softball team:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida softball team clinched the series for the ninth-consecutive time against Auburn with a 7-0 victory in the second game Sunday, March 26, at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. The Gators have won every three-game series dating back to the 2005 season.
Sophomore Kelly Barnhill fueled the Gators (29-1, 7-0 SEC) to their 20th-straight victory behind a season-high 16 strikeouts. Barnhill limited a potent Tigers (27-5, 2-3 SEC) offense to just two hits, both of which recorded by Kasey Cooper.
Senior Chelsea Herndon was the main force behind Florida’s nine hits.
