Special report on the Florida Gators softball team:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In front of a Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium record crowd of 2,497 people, the University of Florida softball team shutout Georgia 5-0 Saturday, April 8. It’s the first time the Gators have shutout the Bulldogs since April 28, 2013 in Gainesville.
The tone was set from start with starting pitcher Kelly Barnhill (14-0) and the Florida defense working out of a jam where Georgia put their first two batters on with no outs. Barnhill dealt back-to-back strikeouts and catcher Janell Wheaton gunned down
The Gators (35-2, 11-1 SEC) didn’t waste time and opened up the scoring in the initial frame of the contest against the Bulldogs (27-11, 2-8 SEC).
