GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 2 Florida softball team continued its dominance on the second day of the Bubly Invitational, shutting out Providence, 5-0, before run-ruling No. 14 Duke, 9-0, in five innings.
With the two victories, the Gators move to 11-0.
Sophomore pitchers Olivia Miller and Keagan Rothrock dominated in the circle, both throwing complete-game shutouts and allowing just a combined five hits in 12 innings with 11 strikeouts.
Rothrock (5-0) has not allowed an earned run this season in 24.2 innings pitched.
Freshman Taylor Shumaker had another standout performance at the dish on the day, hitting a team-best .
