GAINESVILLE - Florida Gators coach Jim McElwain said he could not believe some of the criticism is program received last week after postponing the LSU game as Hurricane Matthew approached.
"It shocks me that someone could actually think that way, especially knowing us," McElwain said Monday during his weekly news conference.
McElwain said his team's reaction was mixed to the news. The team wanted to play because they're competitors, but some were worried about their families and the possible destruction from the storm.
McElwain stressed that the Gators want to play the game, which will be rescheduled by the SEC.
