Just a mere hour after landing their biggest commitment of the 2018 recruiting cycle, the Florida Gators got another one — this time, from 2019 defensive end Cameron Williams.
Williams is an unrated defensive end from Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, and thus fits the profile of so many South Florida-based defenders that have signed on with the Gators since the hiring of Randy Shannon as a defensive coordinator: Unknown, possibly unranked defenders from south of Lake Okeechobee have routinely been Florida’s bread and butter on the recruiting trail in the last few years, and some, like linebacker Vosean Joseph, have already panned out as finds.
