Florida football needed to use this game as a tune-up, if you will, for the games that will really matter over the next 8 weeks.
Those upcoming games will determine the Gators’ fate in the College Football Playoffs, and if they truly are contenders in the Southeastern Conference to potentially dethrone the almighty Alabama dynasty.
Florida football quarterback Kyle Trask started off 18-for-18, which broke former quarterback Chris Leak’s previous record from 2006.
Trask would finish the game 18-for-20 with 188 passing yards, one passing and one rushing touchdowns.
A lot of Gator Nation believed it would be a 45-point blowout, so the 38-0 final was close enough.
