Miami last kicked off a season against Florida in 1987 with a 31-4 victory en route to a national championship, however, this group of Hurricanes is not expected to come close to those heights.
The Canes return 12 starters for head coach Manny Diaz‘s first season at the helm. Diaz, who was named the 25th head coach in program history last January after Mark Richt retired at the end of the season, has quickly brought in a new energy to a program that seemed to run out of steam by the end of last season.
