Florida expected to introduce Stricklin as AD

Scott Stricklin, as expected, will become Florida's new athletic director and will be introduced at a news conference Tuesday, The Sun has confirmed.

The news conference will take place at 1 p.m. at the Otis Hawkins Center at Farrior Hall on the UF campus.

Stricklin, the athletic director at Mississippi State, became Florida's top target after North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham pulled out of the running.

Florida had approached Stricklin, 46, about an interview right after Foley announced his retirement, but an arrangement could not be reached as UF's search committee tried to keep a tight lid on the process.
