Florida coach Jim McElwain said Wednesday that he is not interested in taking the Oregon job and is happy with the Gators.
McElwain has bene linked as a possible candidate at the Pac-12 school after it fired Mark Helfrich on Tuesday evening.
“I’ve got a heck of a job,” McElwain told reporters. “In case anybody checked, this is the University of Florida. We’re playing in what they call the SEC championship game. It really hasn’t crossed my mind.”
Florida plays No. 1 Alabama in the SEC championship game Saturday, his second straight appearance in the game in two years as Gators coach.
