Another game, another opportunity blown by the Florida basketball Gators to secure an NCAA tournament bid.
The Gators fell behind by double-digits early in the contest, scored 15 straight points go ahead, then relied on their defense (perhaps too heavily) and allowed the Tigers to build another big lead — which eventually proved to be insurmountable.
Florida managed to make it a game towards the end, but the late rally wasn’t enough to overcome the huge deficit.
For UF, it was yet another crushing Southeastern Conference defeat, marking its third-straight loss for the first time this season (four over the last five, and five of the previous seven).
