It can be a cruel sport sometimes, and Florida baseball found that out firsthand in a 5-4 defeat to Texas Tech last night.
The loss puts Florida in an uncomfortable situation that it has been unable to escape the previous two seasons.

The model for the Florida Gators all season has been to outslug their opponents. The five runs surrendered by Florida were pretty much par for the course. Brandon Sproat went six innings, giving up three runs, and Ryan Slater gave up the game-winning two-run home run in the eighth inning to take his first loss of the season.
