After months of speculation from Gator fans both near and far, Dan Mullen has announced that Feleipe Franks will be the Florida starting quarterback heading into the season opener Saturday night at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium against Charleston Southern.
Franks is the only current Gator quarterback on the roster with any starting experience, and for that matter, Franks is the only Florida quarterback currently on the roster with any college playing experience. Franks played in 11 games for the Gators in 2017, throwing for 1438 yards and nine touchdowns. Franks completed just under 55 percent of his 229 pass attempts in 2017.
