Florida Gators starting quarterback Feleipe Franks was carted off the field in the third quarter against Kentucky with an apparent leg injury.
Trailing Kentucky 21-10 the Gators were attempting to convert on fourth down. Franks was tackled from behind and a Kentucky defender came down on Franks’ ankle. The quarterback was visibly upset and emotional on the field. Florida’s trainers immediately put his right ankle in an air cast before Franks was loaded on to a cart.
The entire Florida sideline emptied and surrounded the cart before Franks’ departure.
Kyle Trask took over for Franks at quarterback.
