Dan Mullen has brought hope back to Florida.
He will find out just how difficult a task he has ahead of him in restoring the Gators to the elite as UF begins spring practice Friday. Florida finished 4-7 last season, losing six of its final seven games.
Mullen was lured away from Mississippi State, where he survived the brutally tough SEC West for nine seasons. The Gators are hoping Mullen is the guy to finally snap UF out of its offensive doldrums.
He is taking over what appears to be a good, but not great, roster.
