ATHENS, Ga. — To pick up an important conference win on the road, Florida played with a sense of desperation on the defensive end of the floor Tuesday night.
Shots were challenged. Passes were deflected. Players fought in traffic for defensive rebounds.
A viewer wouldn't consider Florida's 57-53 win over Georgia pretty. But to Florida coach Mike White, it represented growth in how the Gators need to compete during the stretch run of the season.
"In the past two or three weeks, we hadn't been quite as good as we're capable of being defensively," White said.
