Florida stunned No.9 Ole Miss in Gainesville, defeating the Rebels 24-17 behind a bend but don’t break defense on Saturday afternoon. The Gators allowed just three points after halftime, sealing the victory with back-to-back interceptions from sophomore safety Bryce Thornton.
The victory marks the first time Billy Napier’s Gators have won back-to-back games vs ranked opponents and their second win over a top 10 opponent since 2022. Florida (6-5, 4-4 SEC) is now bowl eligible on the 2024 season and played spoiler to Ole Miss, who suffered their third loss of the season and is likely eliminated from the College Football Playoff conversation.
