Lakeland High School helped deliver the Florida Gators one national championship.
On Wednesday, the Gators signed three players from the 2018 Class 5A state champion, a longtime football powerhouse.
Tight end Keon Zipperer, guard Deyavie Hammond and defensive end Lloyd Summerall each committed to the Gators during a nationally televised ceremony on ESPN2.
The signings moved UF from No. 22 to No. 15 in the 247Sports team rankings.
Zipperer, rated the nation’s No. 136 prospect by 247Sports, moved to the top of UF’s 2019 class. Hammond, at No. 172, is the highest rated among the seven offensive lineman signed by the Gators.
