Florida Gators coach Dan Mullen apologized Wednesday for his comments suggesting fans pack the Swamp shortly before a COVID-19 outbreak spread among his team.
Mullen also said two of his assistant coaches have tested positive for COVID-19, but they are not reporting any symptoms. During his appearance on the SEC teleconference, Mullen said he has not tested positive for the highly transmissible virus.
Mullen said the entire football team was tested Wednesday a day after a source told the Orlando Sentinel 19 players had tested positive for COVID-19, prompting athletics director Scott Stricklin to announce he was suspending team activities.
