For fans of Miami football the past decade, there's been more lows than highs. The Nevin Shapiro scandal robbed Miami of scholarships and created enough uncertainty in recruiting to dilute the talent pool coming to campus in Coral Gables.
A pair of coaches (Al Golden and Randy Shannon) produced mediocre results. Many expected Miami to dominate the ACC when it joined the conference in 2004. Instead, 12 years later, the Hurricanes are still seeking their first ACC title. Who could have envisioned then that Miami would win an ACC title in men's basketball before football?
