Cold-shooting UF suffers first loss

LAKE BUENA VISTA -- Florida showed Friday night it wasn’t quite ready to beat a ranked team yet. Not at this point of the season, anyway.

For 30 minutes, Florida went toe-to-toe with No. 11 Gonzaga. But ultimately, the depth, size and shooting ability of the Bulldogs (5-0) proved to be too much for the Gators to handle.

Guard Josh Perkins led four Gonzaga scorers in double figures with 18 points as the Bulldogs beat Florida 77-72 in the semifinals of the AdvoCare Invitational at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.

Florida (5-1) will face Miami (4-1) in the tournament’s third-place game Sunday at 4:30 p.
