Looking at recent history for the Florida Gators defense, one attribute really stands out –
terrific play at linebacker over the past 15 years. What the team has occasionally lacked at other positions, they have more than made up for at linebacker.
Heading into the 2018 season, which will be the first under new head coach Dan Mullen and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, there will be pressure on the Gator defense to keep the team in games until the offense finds its footing. Much of that pressure will be centered around linebacker David Reese, who coming into his junior season in Gainesville, is considered one of the leaders of the defense.
