GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida coach Jim McElwain made it clear Wednesday that in order for the Gators to be successful in 2016, his players need to define expectations and become aware of what the standard is within program. On defense, the standard has been one of domination, thanks to NFL-level talent.
One group that is well-aware that it must maintain the standard is the defensive line. Six UF linemen have been selected in the past five drafts, including two this year: third-rounder Jonathan Bullard, who tied for team lead in sacks and led the Gators in tackles for loss, and seventh-rounder Alex McCalister, who was the sacks co-leader.
