That distinction goes to Brock Berlin.
Let me explain.
In 1999, Brock Berlin was the most highly sought after recruit in the country. He may be in the conversation for most highly touted recruit in college football history.
Berlin arrived at UF from Shreveport, La., where he was a Parade magazine All-American, the Gatorade National Player of the Year and the USA Today National Offensive Player of the Year. He was seen as the perfect quarterback for Steve Spurrier.
Perfect, that is, if Rex Grossman weren’t already on the roster.
Luckily for Grossman, there was no social media in those days.
